Since the 1980's, many people in Japan and elsewhere have been interested in healing and in searching for the inner self. While, obviously, the arts can be entertaining, moving, disturbing, consoling, and rich in insight, how can the arts be useful for healing? Eiich Watanabe (1947-) is a leading engraver who has been a working artist for thirty years. He has also painted in oils for the last decade. His work offers a narrative and a sentiment of the depth.
